I first met Sandra at Camps for Girls in 1964 and we have been friends ever since. I would often stay with her and David on my way to Camp, and after they moved to Fairford we would go fossil hunting in the river banks and gravel pits in the area. I am now the custodian of many of her more impressive finds. We shared a love of the natural world and of children's literature, of rummaging through charity shops and antique emporia, and the simple things of life. She is the only friend who shared my love of fossils, rocks and other odd things, and I will always treasure our times together.
